So McNeese has over 100 student organizations here on campus, whether you are into religion, food, pottery, we have so many opportunities for you to get involved here at McNeese. I know for me I kind of dove in headfirst when I started doing organizations here at McNeese, and I know personally it would be beneficial to me because you just don't want to go to class and not know the person you're sitting next to. You want to be able to talk to them, to get notes from them, to be able to communicate with them, and doing that is great. But it's even better taking that outside of the classroom when you get to see that person and they become your friend by being in an organization. Since I'm a Peerleader here at McNeese, we teach some traditions at our summer orientations and one of them is to not step on our seal located in the Quad. If you do you have to touch John McNeese's head, who's our founder of McNeese and you only have 30 seconds to run to him and do it. Big things are happening here at McNeese State University. We're about to get a new Student Union. This new Student Union will include a cafeteria, late-night study areas, places for organizations to meet, and it will just be the heart of where students can hang out at McNeese State University.
