The great thing about McNeese is that a lot of the professors here and people in administration are really close with a lot of the local business owners and company owners. And so we get a lot of opportunities to participate in internships. And it's really awesome because everything is relatively close in the area. And as far as like flexibility goes, it's super easy, and everybody works well with you because they understand that you're a student. You have a crazy schedule, you don't get to necessarily pick your class times. Some of the faculty have pushed us early on in our careers at McNeese to look into these internships, and it's kind of our responsibility to go out and find different internships that kind of interest us and our field of study. Through McNeese I actually got an internship of working in an actual CPA firm. And I actually got to stay on after my internship and I still work there. And hopefully, I'll be able to work there once I graduate as a full-time employee. So as an incoming student, you're always looking for opportunities out there. And just one way to kind of get some research under your belt is you can go find a graduate student who's looking for a little extra help on their master's thesis. That way, you can apply the knowledge that you have into the actual real-world research and they're always trying to find a little opportunity to get somebody to help them out. McNeese provides a relatively smaller community, which is not a con at all like it really actually helps us get to know our professors and it allows for like a stronger relationship within the community as well. And McNeese is a great place to really form those relationships within the community and really build your future.
