I would say that the faculty at McNeese State University take the time to know students personally. Essentially, because of the classes being rather smaller than typically large-sized university you get the opportunity to have a personal relationship with your professor and get enough chance to have in you know, decent office hours, get to meet with the professor, have them sit down, have them understand your personal situation, and have them help you understand concepts at your own pace. Professors have been very committed into helping their students succeed. One great experience that I've had so far was with Ms. Katrina Carter. She has helped us prepare for the clinical setting, becoming better critical thinkers, and prepared us for the state licensure exam. Our nursing classes, they take the top 60 that make the qualifications. And during lectures, we usually tend to have like one to two professors that are teaching the classes. And if we don't have an understanding of it, they also offer office hours or they'll let us see them after class. And they'll try to explain things better if they didn't get to. I'd say all of the faculty typically go way beyond and have gone beyond for their students. In particular, Dr. Srinivasan Ambatipati, affectionately known as Dr. Vasan by his students has really spearheaded the graduate program in Chemical Engineering, providing lots of avenues for research, research in catalysis, lithium-ion battery cell technology. And so that faculty, Dr. Vasan is really commendable for the work that he does at the university. The goal for our faculty is to get the students to learn not just to get a degree, but to learn and actually walk out of the gates of this university with knowledge that can be used in the world.
